MEVA is a small firm that specializes in a contemporary bohemian design aesthetic in which people can truly feel at home. With a staff that is friendly and approachable, MEVA is the right choice for designing your space.

As a dual partnership firm, owned and run by Miguel and Erik, the dichotomy of their aesthetic allows for a unique and integrated design. Mixing warm, natural elements with a cool, modern and contemporary medium creates an electric sensibility.

Miguel’s passion has always been founded in women’s fashion apparel and textile design. Studying at FIT, he excelled in developing a detailed skill level with color, fabric and shapes. With a focus on visual merchandising for major companies such as Neiman Marcus, J. Crew, Saks 5th Ave and Bloomingdales among just a few major fashion retailers, he eventually expanded his visual talent into the interior design world, connecting him with some of the Hampton’s top developers as their lead designer.

Outside of his fervor for interior design, traveling the world has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his livelihood. His extensive travels has broadened his sense of design and culture to a high level, which can be seen throughout his work.

Partnering in design, Erik met Miguel upon his recent move to NYC and quickly established a great friendship that eventually led to establishing a design firm together. Both sharing a love for art, architecture and design, they were able to meld their two sensibilities together as one.

Having found a long lasting passion for design, Erik pursued his career through his studies at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University in Interior Architecture and Design. His experience has been curated through extensive studies of residential development, interior design and new construction through several design firms on the West Coast and NYC.

Born and raised in California, Erik brings a cool neutral aesthetic to his design. Modern, contemporary art and architecture are the base of his design taste. With a curiosity for travel, culture and history, Erik has enveloped himself in the experiences that have come from those travels, including living on different regions in the U.S. With a love for animals, Erik carries his heart in his sleeve for animal rights and protection, among a newly found passion for photography and painting.
